Contitución the Spanish Committee of Toxicology – IUTOX
In the General Department of International Organizations and Programs of the Ministry of Education and Science, took place on 29 March 2004 the constitution of the Spanish Committee of Toxicology – IUTOX (International Union of Toxicology), approved by the Standing Committee of the Interministerial Commission of Science and Technology, under the chairmanship of Deputy, D. Esteban Manrique Reol.
Since February 2008 The committee consists of the following members:

Basic rules of the Spanish Committee of Toxicology – IUTOX
The aim of the Spanish Committee of Toxicology – IUTOX is to serve as a link between the Public and Scientific Societies, with an international projection through IUTOX (International Union of Toxicology).
The Committee shall consist of a President, a secretary, appointed by the General Department of International Organizations Programs and approval of the Standing Committee of the Interministerial Commission of Science and Technology, and at least four members, being represented by different entities involved members in Toxicology; and a representative of the Ministry of Education and Science.
It shall hold meetings of the Committee, an annual.
The Committee shall report to the General Directorate of International Relations, always acting as such, speaking as a representative of the Ministry.
Shall be disseminated widely to the rest of the scientific community on issues that are considered of interest, for what means may be used as the websites of the associations and organizations represented in it.
Specific objectives of the Spanish Committee of Toxicology – IUTOX
- Coordinate the participation of different groups in universities and research organizations, involved in studies related to toxicology.
- Strengthen collaboration and academic exchange between the Ph.D. and Masters programs in different countries that have as their object the study and research in toxicology or related fields.
- Facilitate the realization of joint research projects between teachers and researchers, student internships and academic events that are involved in scientific associations in other countries Toxicology.
- Further study of test methods used short and long term in the evaluation of the carcinogenicity, mutagenicity and reproductive toxicity of chemicals and chemical products.
- Develop and standardize analytical methods for the identification and determination of biomarkers of exposure, effect and susceptibility to chemical substances in man and the environment.
- Apply methods of risk assessment for human health and the environment of chemicals and chemical products.
Activities of the Spanish Committee of Toxicology – IUTOX
- Formalize and strengthen partnerships with other Spanish institutions and researchers engaged in activities related to toxicology and who have initially expressed their agreement to establish coordination with universities and research centers.
- Formalize and strengthen the linkage of different academic units, research centers and research groups from Latin American universities that carry out activities related to toxicology and initially expressed interest in participating.
- Formalize and strengthen the involvement of other entities external to the universities and research centers engaged in activities relating to toxicology and initially would be interested in establishing this link.
